Hope

Wildflowers

In this time of uncertainty, we need to hang on to hope. In my video, the lighted wildflowers glow in the darkness as an affirmation of the spirit of hope, and an illuminated touch transports the imagination to a thriving sunlit garden. For a moment, the visions and sounds of nature come to life. When bees in a wildflower garden visit the flowers, they are gathering nectar and pollen not only for themselves but to ensure the survival of others. Our actions too are critical to the wellbeing of others. I hope that we can see each other through difficult times and use art and imagination to renew our hope.

I made this sculpture as part of a virtual exhibition, “A Flowering of Hope,” a project of the Plasma Art Alliance. View the rest of the exhibition here to see some inspiring work from a group of artists around the world addressing the theme of hope using the medium of light.
